What will you find here ?
Here you will find most of the questions I get asked all the time. I hope you will find answers to most of yours. If not, don’t hesitate to contact me here or via my online chat.
General questions
1. How do I pay for my session fee ?
Once you booked your session, the full session fee is due at the time of your booking out of which 50% is non-refundable. If you have chosen bank transfer, the session fee is due at least five (5) days prior to your session date.
We accept bank transfer, Mastercard, and Visa. A surcharge of 1.6% will incur with Mastercard and Visa via our payment gateway partner eWAY.
If you have requested a professional make-up artist, a separate invoice will be sent to you to be paid separately.
If the session fee is not paid, your session date will no longer be blocked and might be allocated to someone else.
2. Where can you shoot ?
Your session can be done in studio, at your work place or outdoor. I can setup my mobile studio anywhere and consistently achieve the same result!
3. do you offer discounted price for returning customer ?
30% off on the session fee only, for returning customers.
4. Do you offer student rates ?
Starting and investing in a new carrier is not an easy task. We’ve all been there. For that reason, I offer a student rate for acting/modelling headshots for those of you still studying, at $280 instead of $380.
A copy of a current valid student card will be required!
5. Commercial project price
A custom quote will be sent based on your initial requirements.
5. How long does a session last ?
Acting/modelling headshot usually takes 2h30 and can last up to 4 hours (hair and makeup plus outfit change included).
Executive Corporate headshot can last between 30 minutes to 1-hour person. or as quickly as 5 to 10 minutes per person.
Time will vary for Team/group for business depending on shooting environment and group size.
Hair & Makeup Artist
1. do you provide hair and make-up service?
YES I do. If you’d like to have your makeup and/or hair done, I can have a hair and makeup artist in the studio.
For any query for a hair and makeup artist, please let me know so I can organise an artist for your session. Additional fees apply and to be paid directly to the artist.
2. Do I need a makeup artist service ?
It is not compulsory but highly recommended for best result. However, not every industry will necessarily need Hair and Make-Up service. If you are a model or an actor, HMUA (Hair Makeup Artist) is strongly suggested. My artist will work with us to adapt for your role or mood you need for your casting.
For corporate, I’d hightly recommend one for female. Hair and makeup artist are highly trained professionals who understand better how to bring the best of each and every individual. Their eye for detail is essential as in today digital age, our cameras are capable of capturing extreme details of your skin and poor makeup can definitely be visible.
Clothing
1. what should I wear for my session?
Wear what makes you feel look great and comfortable. However, always keep in mind what you want to communicate to your audience. That being said, try to avoid bright colors and patterns. You want to avoid anything that would distract the eye away from YOU!
2. Can I wear jewellery ?
Yes you can. However, your jewellery shouldn’d be to invasive as big jewellery like prominent earings or enormous neckless will distract the eyes away from you. In a headshot, you are the the main focus and not what you wear. Essentially when it comes to jewellery, minimalism is best.
Prepare for your session
1. Hydratation
Make sure to hydrate yourself well at least 24h prior your session. Pay attention to your lips and also make sure they are not dried or have cracks.
2. Makeup
If you have booked a makeup artist through me, just come with no makeup at all. Or if not possible, come with very minimum makeup as the makeup artist will remove and/or clean your face anyway.
3. What should I bring ?
Bring all clothing you feel amazing in. You can even bring your entire wardrobe if you can’t decide. We can always spend the time together and try as many as you like. However DO NOT bring anything that you feel average in. This is your time to shine, so come only with the very best options you have!
4. Men face wash lotion !
For men, I have a face wash lotion to remove natural oil due to sweat and/or skin condition. If you have yours, feel free to bring it.
5. Men shave or not ?
SHAVE! if you need to because I won’t shave you in photoshop.
During your session
1. Few things to know
We won’t start shooting straight away. If we haven’t met prior to your session, I’ll spend some time to explain how I run the session and how we get organize from start to finish.
We’ll also discuss about what the headshot is for and how I’ll tailor your shot to your needs.
Regarding your clothes, we’ll have a look at what you have and decide which combination will work best. I always begin with your least favorite and use your absolute favorite last. Starting with the least favorite cloth will help you warmup. By the time we run through few sets of clothing, you’ll feel more and more confident.
In between outfit change, you might need a makeup refresh or get a new makeup style depending on what we have decided at the beginning of the session.
2. Time
I don’t have time limit on a session. However a session can take up to 4 hours and usually last in average 2 hours depending on the session type.
After your session
1. how will I receive my photos ?
You will have access to your very own private online gallery. From there, you will be able to view, comment, share and download all your photos. Your private online gallery will be up for 7 days from the day you reveice your access.
2. how long does it take to have my pictures ?
In average, it takes approximately 7 days to edit and configure your private gallery. For group bookings, processing time from edit to online gallery setup may take longer than 7 days depending on the group size. For commercial project, time frame will be discussed during our meeting.
